Social media has weakened the three major forces that support successful democracies: social capital (extensive social networks with high levels of trust), strong institutions, and shared stories.
If we do not make major changes soon, then our institutions, our political system, and our society may collapse.
Most Americans... are members of the “exhausted majority,” which is tired of the fighting and is willing to listen to the other side and compromise. Most Americans now see that social media is having a negative impact on the country, and are becoming more aware of its damaging effects on children.
